PSA: You Will No Longer Be Able To Redeem Prepaid Card Codes on the Wii U and 3DS eShops After Today

Just 7 months before it’s impending closure, and we’re entering another phase. As of today, Nintendo is removing the functionality that allows you to redeem codes from prepaid cards (found at retailers, physically and digitally) as of today, August 29th, 2022. The only way you will be able to redeem these codes is through a linked Nintendo Account, should you have one.

Both storefronts are expected to close for good in March 2023.
