FTC Subpoenas Nintendo of America’s VP of Publisher and Developer Relations

Called to the stand

The FTC has subpoenaed Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations, Steve Singer, in connection with their lawsuit against Microsoft concerning their acquisition of Activision-Blizzard-King (ABK). This deal has been heavily criticized by the FTC and EU previously, with concerns that said acquisition would be hinder competition/be anti-competitive.

The FTC appears to be seeking more information on Microsoft’s deal with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to its platforms for the next 10 years. If the subpoena is honoured, Singer will take the stand for a few hours for questioning.
