Sorry for that little time away, folks. We never meant to disappear in the first place, honestly, but a lot went wrong with our backend that required us to do a little bit of work. Now we’re back and better than ever. Some things have changed around here, including our look and feel, but rest assured: we’re still the same Kakariko Herald we once were.
In no particular order, here are some things we’ve done to improve the place:
- Redesigned the whole site from top-to-bottom, giving it a cleaner look and making it faster.
- Sped up the backend for the writers (Slade and Tyson).
- Did some tweaking to permalinks, making them easily shareable across every social media platform.
- Made some changes to the homepage, page ranking, and all that fun stuff.
- Tweaked Search to make it faster than ever before. We plan to rebuild the functions that make Search tick in the near future, but for now, you’ll likely see a 25% improvement.
- Moved our hosting over to providers with strong backbones.
- We also rewrote some parts of WordPress to hook into some custom built plugins and themes to better build this site for years to come.
We’re very excited and can’t wait to start sharing the news with all of you once more! This time, fingers crossed, we’ll be in it for the long haul. We’ve got a lot planned, and it’s time to get to work!
