Niantic has announced that Pokémon GO is getting a new type of event known as Hatch Day. They describe these as being “focused around specific featured Pokémon.” For the first one, that Pokémon is the one and only Riolu.
Here are the details from their blog post for those who are interested:
- Riolu will hatch much more frequently from 2 km eggs. You’ll also have an increased chance of hatching Shiny Riolu!
- Event Bonuses: You’ll have an increased chance of hatching Shiny Riolu! / 2× Stardust from hatching Eggs. / 2 km Eggs will drop much more frequently from PokéStops.
- Field Research: Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available when you spin Photo Discs at PokéStops. Complete the tasks to earn candy, Stardust, Berries, Great Balls, and XP.
- Timed Research: Free event-exclusive Timed Research awarding a Super Incubator for will be available!
The Hatch Day Event will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
