Court records seen by KNXV-TV ABC15 Arizona revealed that the FBI, with Nintendo’s cooperation, used a Nintendo Switch to locate an abducted 15-year-old around 2,000 miles away from her home. The information provided by Nintendo included the console’s IP address, after it was connected to the internet to download a game and watch YouTube.

That information led the FBI to the apartment complex of the abductor in August 2022. He was arrested, and sentenced to 30 years in prison back in April.
