Improved Fast Travel Mechanics in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Will Apparently Require Zelda and Loftwing amiibo Figure

And it’s going to cost you!

On Tuesday (May 18th), it was announced that there would be a new amiibo figure — Zelda and Loftwing — releasing along with Skyward Sword HD in July. 

It appears that the improved fast travel mechanics that are available in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will be locked behind the brand new amiibo functionality, and may require the Zelda and Loftwing figure to function.

When asking if the mechanic is accessible without an amiibo, Patrick Klepek of VICE Games said:

“…Nintendo PR pointed me towards the website for the amiibo. So take that as you will.”

What’s more is that according to Nintendo Life, the amiibo figure will cost more than a regular amiibo, with pricing at $24.99 USD.
