Nintendo Kills 3-Lap Random Courses in Mario Kart World Online

Well, not entirely. But they're pretty uncommon now, in 1.1.2

Nintendo just released a new update for Mario Kart World, bumping the version number to 1.1.2. This update makes a controversial change for the people who love 3 lap tracks in Mario Kart, though. Now, when a random course is selected online, a route between courses (or an intermission, as people call it) can be selected from the pool of courses. Many people are already against this change, and people have been begging Nintendo to make the opposite change essentially since the game's launch.

Here are the full update notes:

General
Adjusted courses selected in “Random” when selecting next course in a wireless “VS Race.”

Fixed Issues
Made readjustments to fix an issue where rate fluctuations were sometimes displayed incorrectly in “Online Play” and “Knockout Tour.”
Fixed an issue where you sometimes can’t recover quickly after falling off the course in "Dino Dino Jungle".
Fixed an issue where you continually hit the wall near the finish line of “Boo Cinema” when transformed into Bullet Bill.
