We're Filing to Become A Company This Year!

Four years in the making, it's almost real!

We're Filing to Become A Company This Year!

We've been quiet around these parts for a while. Truth is, we've been keeping something from you. And it's a big one.

Tyson and I couldn't be more excited to share the news with you. After four years of being a project we worked on here and there, after all this time of wondering what on Earth we wanted to do with this thing, we're doing what we should've done when I graduated high school in 2021: we're filing the paperwork to become an LLC this year! In fact, that process kicked off just a couple of weeks ago and we expect it to be up and running in just a few months, if not sooner.

Of course, we couldn't just come up with a generic name. We're planning to call our company Rogueport Media, LLC, named for the starting area of the same name from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The LLC will be 50/50 owned with Tyson and I. Equal partners, equal halves.

In addition to publishing Kakariko Herald, it will also publishour sister publication Nerd In Sight and properly house my (Slade's) pre-existing consultancy work for other businesses that I do (eCommerce, web design, SEO, and some social media-related work.)

To close, we'd like to thank a few people.

  • To the family and friends in our personal lives--especially our parents and my (Slade's) partner: for being our original benefactors and supporting our now early beginnings, for the endless encouragement you have given as we looked forward to this day, and for being the springboard for so many ideas we've had for our direction, we cannot thank you enough for listening to us talk your ears off about this for this long. We can't wait to make you proud! (And we're sure you'll appreciate us shutting up about it, too!!)
  • To André Segers from GameXplain and Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb for inspiring many early ideas for what eventually became Kakariko Herald (which, fun fact, began as a Tumblr blog Slade originally started in 2018!)

Truly: without ANY of you, from the people in our personal lives to our professional lives, this site (and soon, this company) wouldn't exist. From a Tumblr blog to this, we could never have done any of it. Full stop. Genuinely, thank you--for everything.

To everyone else, you'll be hearing a lot more from Tyson and myself this year, especially as we look ahead to a few months from now. We've got something planned we're keeping secret for now. But there will be more on that another time.

Until then... talk soon!

Much love,
Slade (he/they) & Tyson (he/him)
